In our industry, peer-to-peer connection and communication is paramount to success—as individuals and as a professional collective. LES provides a wide variety of opportunities for our members to network, engage, and elevate their professional expertise. Building strong relationships within these networks not only opens doors to new opportunities, but also fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing that can propel your career forward.
Make the most out of your LES membership experience by taking advantage of our numerous avenues to expand your network and connect with more IP and licensing professionals around the country. We highly recommend getting involved in local chapters, committees, industry sectors, and special interest groups.
Find Your Local Chapter
With more than 45 local chapters around the United States and Canada, you’re sure to find connections with other IP and licensing professionals in your area.
Each chapter holds regular meetings and hosts events throughout the year to promote networking and education with professionals in your area. Events are open to everyone, so check your chapter’s calendar to see what’s happening!
Connect with Industry Sectors
You get out of LES what you put in. Getting further involved with special groups or committees affords you chances to expand your expertise, develop new skills, and build relationships with industry experts.

Opportunities for deeper engagement within LES include but aren’t limited to:
- Special Interest Committees, such as Women in Licensing, Public Policy, and Education Committees, that serve to further specific interests within IP and licensing.
- Young Members Congress (YMC) Committee, a special group for professionals under 40 to connect and engage.
- Industry Sectors that focus on networking and professional development in areas such as Chemicals, Energy, and Environment; High Technology; Consumer Products; Industry-University-Government Interface; and Life Sciences.
- Standards Committee that collaborates on consensus-based professional practices to preserve the integrity of IP and licensing.
